" The grant was invaluable to me during my 4 years at university. It meant that I did not need to seek part time employment during term time which afforded me the freedom to focus on achieving my goal of obtaining a first-class degree. It also allowed me to be totally financially independent from my parents. Ultimately, my university experience as a whole owes a lot to the support of the foundation"........M.H.
"The Dwyer Foundation's grant not only enabled me to undertake the Cambridge course but as it limited the borrowing needed to come here it has also made a C.V boosting, yet unpaid, intern with the UN possible. I am sure had I been a further £1500 in debt I would not be able to undertake an intern despite the long-term career benefits such an experience presents. Indeed, without the grant I may very well have declined the Cambridge offer which led to the intern. So far as the timing of payments; for the 3-term structure at Cambridge the 3 x £500 instalments were ideal as they coincided with the University fee payment deadlines. I am sincerely grateful for the foundations financial support and would once again like to express my thanks"......S.U.
"The grant has made so much difference to my time at Oxford. It has meant that I could focus fully on the university life and has enabled me to achieve a 2:1 and take part in social and sporting life and make many friends. Thank you also for the end of degree BBQ. It was interesting to meet other Grantees & see how everyone fared. Thanks too for the lift home afterwards".....D.K.
" It is only when you are living on your own that you realise how expensive everything is in the real world and I am very grateful for your generosity which in part has stopped me being financially disadvantaged from the other students as my parents were unable to help me in this fashion"......B.M.
" My second year was more expensive as I had to move into private sector accommodation and also attend compulsory field trips. Your support was essential to enable me to do this"......R.F.
"My grant went towards rent and bills which were much more than I thought they would be. Thank you for enabling me to keep my student loan to a reasonable level".....R.T
