Application Process.
Although a secure place at university is not required prior to application, we will require details of where and what you intend to study. Most applications are received in the April preceding the autumn you start your course.
Your school needs to be known to the Charity and you should have been approached by one of your teachers in March/April of the year you have applied for university. Usually you will already be in receipt of the Pupil Premium and/or Free School Meals although this is not an absolute requirement.
The closing date for applications is 15th May annually.
Application forms can be obtained from:
Your Head Teacher or Head of Sixth Form
Via email from apply@dwyer-hartfoundation.co.uk
Applications will be acknowledged and will be kept confidential. Once we have received all the relevant details (listed below) we will arrange to meet you either at school or home to discuss your application.
All applications received will be considered at the annual meeting of Trustees each July. You will be notified shortly after this as to whether your application has been successful.
We will send you a form which requires fuller details of your financial situation. This is to help the Trustees stay up to date with the state of student finances and should not affect your grant.
We require confirmation of your final A-Level results direct from your school and details of your final choice of university as soon as this is available.
To be considered for a grant we require the following information:
-A completed application form should be sent in .PDF or MS Word Format to apply@dwyer-hartfoundation.co.uk
-A supporting letter from your Head Teacher or Head of Sixth Form (sent under separate cover) explaining why you should be given a Trust Grant.
Once we have received this information, we will contact you to arrange an interview with members of the Trust. This can be done either at school or at home.
